Touchwood Bed and Breakfast is just a 12-15 minute walk away from Bellingen, so leave the car safely parked and walk if you wish to ‘sip whilst you sup’ ! The fast flowing, cool waters of the Bellinger River are just a five minute walk, a lovely cool off on a hot day !
Our home is a rather unusual architect-designed pole house, we extended in that style, adding a completely private suite for our guests – your own entrance, balcony, bathroom and a spacious, luxuriously furnished queen bed studio room with all the amenities and more, that you would expect from a B & B. Good flat off-street parking and access. Touchwood is Bellingen Council approved. The house is screened from public view by mature rainforest gardens and provides hidden nooks to sit with a good book or just daydream ! Our Guestbook is filled with lovely comments, and we have had many return visits. We enjoy welcoming folk, recommending activities, restaurants etc, and sending guests home feeling relaxed and just a little spoilt ! Come see for yourself !
We cater very generously: cereals, toasts, crackers etc. plus, typically, a ham, cheese and tomato or olive platter, yoghurt, fruit, crisps and naughty-but-nice chocolates - often guests sit on the balcony watching the sun set over the Dorrigo Hills through the trees, sipping a wine and nibbling. We have a Koala living locally that often bounds across our lawns - he LOVES an audience, and performs beautifully in front of a camera - and a host of birds, water dragons, butterflies etc. Birdsong is a great alarm clock, just leave the sliding doors open.....
Our guests come for various reasons, travellers to stop over on the Sydney/Brisbane run, some for the many festivals and/or Camp Creative, or for a romantic weekend, a ‘girls night out’ away from home , or simply just a relaxing time-out from business and work pressures. Whatever the reason, we enjoy spoiling them!
We go the extra mile at Touchwood B & B: generous catering, info pamphlets on activities etc. books, music, DVD player, TV, Wi Fi, microwave, heated towel rail, iron and ironing board, electric blanket,new Queen size pillow-topped bed. plus, of course, a warm friendly welcome and at an affordable tariff from $125 p/n. A great halfway stopover, and conveniently halfway to Mountains or Coast, a short drive to either. Lots to see and do in a historic town renowned for it's unique qualities. Come see for yourself !
